Glastonbury House Summer Terrace Tea Party
Residents at Glastonbury House were brought together by United Living to enjoy an afternoon tea party and have a fun and sociable few hours in the sun.
The resident only event featured traditional afternoon tea which included tea, soft drinks, sandwiches and cakes, and was held both in the Warwick lounge and terrace outside.
Sharon Douglas, Community Development Officer at United Living said: “The site team and I had a wonderful time in providing a fun social activity for the residents on site, which was a way of saying thank you for their continued co-operation with our works at Glastonbury House. It was fantastic to see our team come together who fully embraced the theme, by creating and constructing the bunting as well as making a balloon banner. These really set the scene and made the residents not only feel welcomed but cared for. Putting in this extra effort was greeted with much joy and smiling faces, residents showed how engaged they were with the event, some attended in their suits and tea dresses. The event ensured the residents enjoyed good food, drink, company and music.”
To accommodate residents, an accessible ramp was created and put in place to enable step free access between the lounge and terrace, and a gazebo was fitted outside to provide shelter and a comfortable environment.
United Living are working throughout Glastonbury House to improve fire safety on behalf of Westminster City Council.
