Sparrow Farm Drive completion brings boost to affordable housing & community space in Hounslow

A key regeneration project to increase the number of affordable homes and community space in London Borough Hounslow has been completed.

Delivered on behalf of Hounslow Council, the Sparrow Farm Drive project in Feltham comprises socially rented family homes for local people, comprising of 15 two-bed and ten three-bed dwellings, while also providing three wheelchair-adapted homes.

The brand-new community centre is a key feature of the development. It will give residents a flexible space for various activities, which the council’s community service will manage. There will be capacity to host 150-200 guests for various social gatherings like weddings and parties, while the facility can also be converted into smaller meeting rooms if required.

A large communal garden with bicycle storage also forms part of the development, fostering a sense of community and emphasising healthy environmentally-friendly living.

Cllr Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council, said: “I’m delighted with the new development. United Living has done a great job during challenging times.

“The development helps us to meet our commitment to the residents of Hounslow. To build sustainable, high-quality homes in the borough, with the added benefit of a community space that residents can use and enjoy.”

Nick Tijou, Regional Managing Director, United Living New Homes, said: “Enhancing a sense of community along with an emphasis on healthy environmentally-friendly living have been key drivers of our work in Sparrow Farm Drive. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Hounslow Homes in delivering this project, which assists them with their pledge to build 5,000 new homes by 2022.

“Creating a lasting legacy in the communities we work is a core value of our business, and we are proud of the project delivered.”
