Mayor opens new show homes at £14 million development in Sidcup

Leading UK place maker, United Living New Homes welcomed the Mayor of London Borough Bexley Council, Councillor James Hunt, to the official opening of the new show homes at its £14 million development at Old Farm Place in Sidcup.

Councillor Hunt was joined by members of BexleyCo Homes and other VIP’s. He enjoyed a guided tour of the site before cutting the ribbon and venturing into the show homes to see the exceptional level of craftsmanship and build quality alongside the progress of the remaining development.

This project milestone marks the significant progress being made on the development of 58 new homes, which will deliver a blended mix of private sale and affordable properties.

Created on behalf of BexleyCo, the new affordable homes support the London Borough of Bexley council’s Draft Housing Strategy 2020-25. Once complete, it will provide a welcome housing boost to the local community.

As well as creating much-needed new homes, a range of parkland enhancements have also been provided for and reflects United Living New Homes commitment to enhancing the communities in which it operates. Improvements include disabled access, new tree planting, new footpaths, play and seated areas, a wet/dry basin (pond) with a viewing platform, dog waste facilities and trim trail equipment.

Graham Ward, Managing Director of BexleyCo, said: “It was a pleasure to meet the Mayor and kind of him to join us for a ribbon-cutting opening ceremony. As Bexley’s local developer, we are proud to be building quality traditional homes for local people, with our returns to be reinvested by the London Borough of Bexley back into services and facilities for Bexley’s residents.”

Nick Tijou, Regional Managing Director for United Living New Homes South, said: “It was a great privilege for the Site Team led by Devon Johnson to welcome the Mayor of Bexley, along with other VIP’s, onto our construction site at Old Farm Place to mark this special milestone. We are proud to support the London Borough of Bexley Draft Housing Strategy 2020-25, and this development, in close partnership with BexleyCo Homes, will help meet these community-led objectives.”
