United Living Property Services lend a hand to local charity
We take our role in society seriously, working to improve the UK’s built environment and delivering lasting change for the communities we work in.
In keeping with that ethos, staff members from our Property Services division provided a day of volunteering to a charity in East Malling, Kent.
Communigrow is an educational and horticultural charity that teaches the benefits of growing local, fresh and affordable produce organically and sustainably to people and local communities.
They work with local schools, scout groups, homeschooled children and over 55s who have found themselves affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jacqueline Noon, Social Value Manager, United Living Property Services, said: “It was really rewarding to provide support to Communigrow, a wonderful local charity that does such good work for the community. Our team of volunteers built a raised bed area, worked in a no-dig plot and helped with general tasks and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.”
Maria Paez, Volunteer Coordinator, Communigrow, said: “We’re delighted to have an enthusiastic team from United Living Property Services supporting growing tasks at Communigrow. They were ready to help and make the most of their day out of the office, demonstrating a clear commitment to creating social value and supporting community initiatives.
“As a small charity, we have limited funding and staff, so their time, talent and help; have allowed us to finish important tasks on time for the growing season and focus on providing learning opportunities to young people. Their support is making a genuine difference building stronger, happier and more inclusive communities in Kent”.
