Hatfield & Gerrard residents come together to discuss tower block fire safety improvements
At United Living, our vision is to create thriving communities and places people are proud to call home. Residents’ safety is our top priority, which is why understanding and neutralising fire risk is at the heart of everything we do.
As part of the Hatfield & Gerrard fire safety transformation project, we have been working with Lewisham Homes and the Tenants’ and Residents’ Associations (TRAs) to ensure that residents have meaningful opportunities to be included in the process.
In keeping with that ethos, Hatfield & Gerrard residents recently discussed new fire safety improvements at a consultation event organised by United Living Property Services and key project partners, including the London Fire Brigade (LFB).
As part of the consultation event, a presentation was given to residents, forming part of LFB’s community engagement strategy, discussing LFB’s plans for the next five years regarding fire safety.
Andrew Broadbent, Divisional Director, United Living Property Services, said: “It was great to have an opportunity to present the new fire safety and improvement works we have completed at Hatfield & Gerrard directly to residents and key stakeholders. With the support of Lewisham Homes, Michael Dyson Associates, and LFB, we could answer any questions in detail and explain the new safety features that are now in place.
“I would like to thank everyone who attended and took an interest in this consultation. Special thanks to the team (Mark Frost, Stuart Toop, Jay Smith, Sue Mitchell), whose in-depth project knowledge made the presentation a success.”
The Hatfield & Gerrard project, which was procured following the Grenfell fire in June 2017, is due for completion this year. Works include Terra Cotta cladding, sprinklers, fire stopping, AOVs and communal ‘Way finding’ signage.
