Cake stall raises thousands for Water Aid
United Living Group is committed to building strong community relationships and ensuring it creates a positive legacy that helps local communities to thrive.
As part of its charitable giving ethos, United Living Group supports various local and national good causes and encourages employees to get involved with fundraising and volunteering.
In that spirit, an incredible £2202 has been raised for Water Aid from a cake sale held at the Kielder Marathon, Northumberland. The total was raised as a result of a fantastic team effort by Northumbrian Water with help from Fastflow Pipeline Services, a subsidiary of United Living Infrastructure Services.
Cakes and tray bakes, which included gluten free and vegan options, included coffee and walnut cake, triple chocolate muffins, chocolate brownies and chocolate chip flapjacks.
Melissa Smith, HR Business Partner at United Living Infrastructure Services, said: “I am so pleased with the total raised for Water Aid from the marathon cake sale. It was a cold and wet day but runners were out in force to take part in the marathon. It was great to meet so many of them after the event and to help at the cake stand.
“I would like to thank everyone from Northumbrian Water who was on the stand to make this happen, and look forward to any future charity events.”
WaterAid is an international charity determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation.
