United Living New Homes subsidiary, Partner Construction to build 59 high-quality homes in County Durham
Our New Homes subsidiary, Partner Construction, has been granted planning permission to build 59 new homes in Peterlee, County Durham.
On behalf of leading housing provider, believe housing. The £9.8 million development will see a vacant brownfield site off Stephenson Road transformed into a beautiful and carefully designed new-build scheme that residents will be proud to call home.
The development comprises 23 two-bed homes, 30-three bed homes and six four-bed homes – including six bungalows to meet the needs of the local ageing community.
All of the 59 properties are affordable, which will help balance the community and ensure genuine affordability for residents.
The development will also incorporate a substantial amount of green open space into its design, with landscaping plans to ensure the scheme looks attractive and in keeping with the surrounding area.
As part of the planning agreement, Partner Construction will pay over £150,000 to County Durham Council for local improvements, including a contribution to the NHS to meet the patient increase created by the development.
Construction is scheduled to start in March 2022 and is expected to be completed in early 2024.
Frank Lincoln, Regional Managing Director at Partner Construction | United Living New Homes, said: “I would like to thank everyone involved in getting this project through to this stage, and look forward to seeing construction progress. Working closely with Believe Housing, we are going to provide the local area with much needed new homes and ensure that together we create a lasting boost to the community.”
Land and Partnerships Business Lead at believe housing, Tom Winter, said: “It’s great to have planning permission for this site. Our development programme has a real focus on transforming brown field sites and integrating new homes into existing communities. This site fits the bill perfectly.
“We’ve seen really strong demand for new homes in the Peterlee area in recent years. This will be our sixth development in the town and I’m confident that it’s going to be a popular one.”
