United Living Group, the provider of infrastructure, housing, and property services, has been awarded a £50 million contract to build new residential apartments at the Outwood Wharf (phase two) development in Salford. The project will be delivered through United Living’s New Homes (“ULNH”) business.
On behalf of Ridgeback, ULNH will deliver 296 one-and-two-bedroom properties, including 275 residential apartments, 11 townhouses and ten duplexes across three connected blocks. The development ranging in height from 8 to 23 storeys will also provide ground floor amenity space, parking facilities and podium level landscaping.
Located in the heart of Salford, the Build to Rent scheme (“BTR”) will provide much-needed high-quality new homes as part of a mixed-use scheme on a vacant site in a highly sustainable, brownfield location. The scheme also includes vital low carbon infrastructure, with solar panels and electric vehicle charging points, contributing to sustainable development and helping Salford City Council achieve its vision of becoming carbon-neutral by 2038.
The development is scheduled to be completed in October 2024. Caroline Lewis, Managing Director, United Living New Homes, said: “As a leading UK placemaker, we are delighted to be playing a key role in creating a new vibrant, sustainable community in the heart of Salford.
“With a track record for delivering high-quality residential schemes across the UK, we are very much looking forward to bringing the proposals to life for the benefit of residents and the future success of the city.”
The contract award is the latest for United Living Group, which is accelerating its growth into the BTR sector with a current order book of over £300 million of BTR schemes in cities across the UK.
