United Living Group, the provider of infrastructure, affordable housing, property services, and telecoms, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, United Living Infrastructure Services (ULIS), has won a multi-million-pound contract with Cadent, the UK’s biggest gas distribution network.
Working in partnership with Cadent, ULIS will divert a 600m section of the existing Alrewas to Ebstree high-pressure gas pipeline to facilitate the future construction of National Highways M54 to M6 link road in the West Midlands. At present, there is no direct motorway link from the M54 to the M6 north; therefore, high volumes of both long-distance and local traffic use the local roads to travel this route.
Campbell Crawford, Managing Director, United Living Infrastructure Services, said:
“We are delighted to be working with Cadent to ensure the successful diversion of this gas pipeline, which will facilitate the improved motorway link between the M54 and the M6 in the West Midlands.
“Our focus will be on delivering a solution that ensures long-term protection, lower environmental and carbon impacts, and minimal disruption to local landscapes and traffic which will benefit customers and the local community.”
Neil Bethell, Director of Capital Delivery, Cadent, commented:
“This high-pressure pipeline diversion is essential to enable the future construction of this significant infrastructure scheme for one of our key customers, National Highways.
“As well as facilitating the proposed National Highways works, this diversion will ensure the continued safe operation of Cadent’s gas network both during the construction of the scheme and into the future. We are pleased to be working with United Living and drawing upon their extensive experience in the pipeline industry to deliver this important scheme for our customers.”
