The Challenge

Camley Street is being developed into 154 new homes consisting of 117 private and 37 affordable units, plus 1,600 square metres of flexible commercial space for small and medium sized businesses. The scheme will provide a high level of site permeability and high quality public realm.

The Solution

The Onyx Apartments are conscientiously designed for modern, elegant professional living. The building is an architectural achievement displaying a stunning exterior of harmoniously balanced brick and glass, positioned on the banks of the Regent’s Canal.

The Onyx Apartments is about regeneration and developing a new benchmark in terms of product on a fantastic site in London. Boundaries need to be explored and people’s perception of how they live and work challenged.

The works to The Onyx Apartments comprised of CAT-A fit-out to the basement “box” which has been constructed under a separate contract, superstructure works above ground floor are to be post-tensioned RC flat slabs. There are also two transfer slabs at Level 1 and 11. The cladding on the project is to be formed of traditional brickwork with stability provided via RC core wall.
