The AMP8 regulatory period for the UK water sector will begin in 2025 and last until 2030. The combined intended spending of the 16 companies over the AMP8 period is £88 billion—a significant increase on AMP7’s £51 billion outlay. Final approval of the business plans will be confirmed in December 2024, ready for commencement on 1 April 2025.
United Living has already secured several AMP8 programmes with clients, including Anglian Water, Northumbrian Water, United Utilities, and Yorkshire Water. We stand ready to support our clients in delivering their ambitious plans and transforming their clean water and wastewater assets across the UK.
The AMP8 work programme is the largest the water industry has ever seen, and it will need to be delivered at scale and pace. Working closely with our wastewater partners, Afeco, we will use our expertise and experience to provide innovative, efficient solutions to ensure the UK’s water and wastewater infrastructure is resilient and fit for the future whilst securing the best value for our customers.
As a trusted delivery partner in the water and wastewater sector, we are also investing in innovative technologies and solutions and expanding our workforce capability and capacity. This will deliver growth opportunities for local people and add value to the communities and environments in which United Living and our partners operate.
To help deliver a fresh pipeline of skilled workers, we recently acquired GTEC, a leading training specialist with over 15 years of experience. Working closely with them, we will equip the future workforce, such as plumbers and welders, with the skills and knowledge required to deliver the record capital investment programme.
