United Living Makes Media House its Headquarters
One of the UK’s leading providers of new and maintained homes has moved in to its new headquarters in Swanley, Kent.
United Living, which was formed from a recent merger with Bullock Construction and United House Limited will officially launch in April 2015.
In preparation, support staff have now moved to Media House on Azalea Drive, Swanley from the former United House’s offices close by on Goldsel Road and Bullock Construction’s head office in Walsall, which will remain as the Group’s regional office for the Midlands.
The Group, which employs more than 600 staff, with a large directly employed workforce, will have more than 150 staff based at the new headquarters.
Media House has been fully refurbished including new mechanical, electrical and IT systems providing three floors of open plan working space with meeting rooms and break out spaces.
As part of the Group’s commitment to reducing its impact on the environment, it has been calculated that a 10 year carbon reduction of 430 tonnes will be achieved by way of new energy efficient heating and cooling systems together with LED lighting. The improved technologies installed will also provide average energy savings in excess of £20,000 per annum. Ian Burnett, Chief Executive of United Living said: “We have huge ambitions for the group and moving to our headquarters signals the start of a new chapter for the Group which has more than 110 years’ of experience with a highly skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
“Corporate Social Responsibility is incredibly important to the organisation and the new office will allow us to meet one of our CSR objectives around reducing our impact on the environment.
“We have been able to provide a smooth transition for staff moving into Media House and we are delighted that we will continue to play a key role as a major employer in Swanley and across the region.”
