Pollards Hill regeneration update
Work on the regeneration of the Pollards Hill estate is entering the closing stages and significant improvements to the area are beginning to shine through.
United Living are working closely with Moat Homes to overhaul the area and boost the community, making it a vibrant and contemporary place to live and work.
The large scope of works include extensive internal and external improvements to the estate.
Existing properties are benefiting from new roofing, windows, doors, kitchen and bathrooms as well as heating systems and other enhancements.
Externally, the area is seeing a visual upgrade with properties and walls being painted, new fencing put in place as well as full renovation of communal areas. It is hoped that these revamped areas will enhance social spaces and provide a boost to outdoor activity bringing the residents together.
A positive example of the environmental improvements on site is that of the multiple courtyards. Before the project these were void and had nothing but grass, but now these areas are being transformed into fully landscaped communal areas.
Roy Balfour, Senior Site Manager, said: “We are currently working on courtyards two and three which is the real showpiece as it shows a direct link between the two areas. The groundworks are in and it is on course to look really good. We tried to give a different theme to each courtyard so that it captures the imagination and ideas of all the residents during the consultation process.
We are working to get the scaffolding down and the last elements of the external works finished. Once this happens and post scaffold works are complete, the visual enhancements we have done will be on display.
We aim to complete the project by the summer of this year and I am excited to see the legacy and fantastic showpiece we leave behind.”
Marian Burke, Director of Strategic Asset Investment at Moat Homes, said: “This exciting project has been an excellent example of partnership working between Moat and United Living. Not only have we delivered a large range of improvements to customers’ homes, but have also jointly launched a range of initiatives to bring the community together and provide opportunities to individuals. The collaborative team that we have created between both organisations, has helped make this project a great success”.
