Wolverhampton Careers Speed Networking Event
National contractor United Living attended a Careers Speed Networking Event hosted by the Black Country Chamber of Commerce this week.
The event, held at Wolverhampton Race Course, was aimed at inspiring the career choices of over 300 school pupils from the region. United Living joined over 150 business volunteers from a wide variety of sectors to provide careers advice and guidance to those in attendance.
Each business volunteer took part in up to 12 speed networking encounters with two students, with each encounter lasting approximately five minutes. Student questions were wide ranging and included asking what people like most about their jobs, what careers advice would you give a student and how much can you earn.
Richard Baker, Regional Director, said: “It was fantastic attending the careers event held at Wolverhampton Race Course. It is important and rewarding to have the opportunity to speak with the next generation and I would like to thank the Black Country Chamber of Commerce for arranging such an event.
“Due to the rapid fire nature of the encounters we were able to speak to a lot of students about our job and the construction industry, and hope to have inspired many young minds to consider a career within our sector.”
