First stage of Rhodes Moorhouse Court is opened
The first part of national contractor United Living’s development at Rhodes Moorhouse Court, Kulbir Thapa House, was opened by Haig Housing Trust on Saturday, 15th June with a large number of attendees present.
The group of attendees included a large part of the Gurkha Community, London Borough of Merton Councillors, representatives from United Living, Haines Phillips, Forces Support and Haig Housing Trust.
The event began when a procession made its way from the Lawrence Weaver Institute along to Kulbir Thapa House. Speeches were given outside the new building by Haig Housing’s Chief Executive James Richardson and Major Mani Rai.
The ceremonial ribbon was cut by Major Mani Rai and Haig Housing Trustee David to formally open Kulbir Thapa House. Attendees were then given a tour of the trim trail which was created as part of the development alongside an existing tennis court.
Rhodes Moorhouse Court is a development of 68 new homes for the ex-service community on behalf of Haig Housing Trust. The properties at this site comprise a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom flats and 3-4 bedroom family houses.
