United Living's Tommy Nightingale has reached the final of the 24housing Young Leaders competition
Contracts Manager for Refurbishment South, Tommy Nightingale is going up against the sector best in the 24housing Young Leaders Final.
The competition is aimed at identifying exceptional talent from across the housing sector and highlighting those who are making incredible strides within their own organisations. Tommy is the only contractor left within the competition which at the start had over one hundred entries, so is flying the flag high for both United Living and the sector as a whole.
In the semi-final, Tommy pitched an idea for what he called an ‘open maintenance portal’. If put in place, this system would allow both tenants and repair teams to upload photos of issues online to improve response times, standards of work and communication.
Tommy said: “I am really proud that I am the only contractor to make it through to the final. I work with many housing associations and local authorities, so have built up good experience in housing, and I can see a lot of potential things that might help.
“Being supported so strongly in the online vote has been a huge high point for me personally, and I am looking forward to the final. If I won and managed to take the Young Leaders trophy home I would be so proud.”
