New affordable homes for Worcester underway
Work has started on the construction of 24 new affordable homes in Worcester.
The development of 15 houses, eight apartments and a bungalow in Oldbury Road, Worcester is being delivered by United Living, on behalf of Platform Housing Group and will be a 56 week programme.
Michael Baggett, Head of New Business at Platform Housing, said: “I am really pleased to see this exciting development taking off. It is important for us because it forms part of our Homes England grant programme and it is a new working relationship with United Living, so we are keen to see the site progress.”
Chris Partington, Managing Director at Zebra Architects which designed the scheme, added: “We are delighted to be working with our strategic partners, United Living in conjunction with Platform Housing to bring more affordable and greatly needed new homes to Worcester.”
A local sub-contractor which is based within a mile of the site is carrying out preparation works, helping to maximise the benefit of investment within the immediate community.
Richard Baker, Midlands Regional Director at United Living, said: “We have been working for two years to get this project from concept, through planning to delivery, so we are very proud and pleased to be breaking ground and starting to get the infrastructure in place.”
