United Living wins a place on the Great Places Housing Group Framework
United Living has won a place on the Great Places Housing Group, Innovation Chain North, framework of contractors.
The framework placed social value at the heart of the tendering process when it came to selecting firms for its £750m Innovation Chain North framework of contractors. It has been set up to deliver 100s of new homes across the north of England over the next four years for Great Places and other housing associations in the area.
Successful firms were selected based on their technical competence, price and their commitment to social value.
Social value pledges, including apprenticeships, work experience opportunities and volunteering hours were proposed by all suppliers which will be applied on every new development.
Helen Spencer, Great Places’ Director of Development, said: “We are delighted to be working with United Living on our new ICN framework. We are confident they will be able to work with us and the clients of ICN in delivering the sector’s extensive development ambitions in the North.
“We were delighted to have a huge response from the market and receive high quality proposals and substantial social value pledges for our communities. We are now looking forward to mobilising the framework and working together on new projects with United Living supporting us with building new homes.”
Jo Jamieson, United Living North Managing Director said: “We are delighted to have won a place on the framework and look forward to working with the partner organisations to deliver much-needed homes in the north.” Great Places Housing Group, with its headquarters in Manchester, provides 19,000 affordable social homes across the North West and Yorkshire.
The new framework will run until June 2024.
