A multi-million pound regeneration project to increase the number of affordable homes in Filton has been completed.

Working in partnership with housing association Bromford, United Living have completed the construction of 17 new homes in Rodney Crescent, replacing eight former properties.

The new homes are a mix of one bedroom flats and two and three bedroom homes, all of which will be advertised for rent on South Gloucestershire Council’s choice based lettings system.

Alice Phillips, Project Manager at Bromford, said: “We’re delighted with these amazing new homes which have been completed on time, despite having to shut down the site at the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Our construction partners United Living have worked tirelessly to ensure these homes are ready on time.”

Jo Jamieson, Managing Director at United Living North, said: “We are proud to have boosted the number of affordable homes in Filton through this fantastic project in partnership with Bromford. This development has resulted in more than double the number of homes than before on the same land, completed to an exceptionally high build standard, and will further enhance an already wonderful community.”

Earlier in the year, United Living’s site manager Jason Ivens was recognised by the National House-Building Council. He was one of 450 finalists chosen out of more than 11,000 applicants nationwide for the Pride in the Job Awards 2020.

Ellen Copeland, Development Manager at Bromford, said: “Jason is an excellent site manager and is exemplary in the way that he works, in his approach and in his attitude towards his site and his subcontractors. He thoroughly deserved this recognition.”

Caroline Lewis, New Business Manager at United Living, said: “We are delighted that Jason has achieved the prestigious Pride in the Job Award on this project, this has been thoroughly deserved. Jason and his team’s commitment to ensure handovers take place on time despite a global pandemic has been first class.”
