This Christmas, United Living will again be donating to good causes across the country, focussing this year on food banks and the Salvation Army. From our regional sites, staff members have been donating goods and getting involved with ‘United Giving’ to ensure that local foodbank supplies are healthily topped up for those who need a helping hand during the run up to Christmas.
In the Midlands, our team has forged strong relations with The Well Foodbank, one of the region’s busiest food banks based in Wolverhampton. In addition to food and parcel donations, we will also be making a financial contribution to allow the food bank to purchase heavily discounted items from the local supermarket supply chain.
Our South team will be focussing on three sites in Stevenage, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, and Enfield. United Living North are making donations to Bassetlaw Foodbank in Sheffield. At our head office in Swanley the donations will be given to the local branch of the Salvation Army who will be distributing the goods to those in need.
The UL Wales team are delivering their collections to Pill Primary School in Newport who will then hand out to local families who are in need of support.
Customer care and community manager for United Living North, Lynne Bingham said: “We have had a really good response to the Christmas giving from our teams. The strain on foodbanks across the country is increasing and it’s a great way of supporting our customers in the regions where we work.”
