A round-up from the Midlands team
United Living Midlands team have recently been investing a significant amount of their time into local communities throughout the region. Their community work has entailed a number of initiatives including coffee mornings, Children in Need fundraising events, donating to organisations such as the Salvation Army, and fitting out a new kitchen for an Earlybirds Playgroup.
In November the team responded to a request for help from Two Rivers Housing to help the Earlybirds Playgroup at St White’s Primary School in Cinderford with a refurbishment project. Together, they donated and fitted a brand-new kitchen, providing a teaching facility for the children and a meeting place for the wider community.
This refurbishment follows United Living’s previous support to help re-locate the playgroup to its current site after the closure of Old Whites Primary School.
The community-focussed project was officially opened by the MP for the Forest of Dean, Mark Harper and showcases United Living’s commitment to working collaboratively and ensuring that social value is embedded into the business making a real difference to its local communities.
United Living’s Midlands team has also helped to realise the business’s social value aims through various fundraising projects. The team recently co-hosted a Macmillan coffee morning with the playgroup and managed to raise £103.80. A further £700 was raised by the team in aid of Children in Need, whilst a generous donation of toys was made, to the Salvation Army appeal.
